Maximally self-assured in her sexuality and her female dominance and superlative beauty, she rests, beckoning and denying the suitor at the same time. Light plays in flowing cascades, down and across her body, of colored lights and shadows. This painting is pastel on La Carte board.

Atlas was destined to shoulder the whole of the cosmos. He is seen as a super-human being with matchless strength, who can support the whole of heaven. In this painting, Atlas lets go, arches back, and is both floating and supported in the celestial spheres. This mixed media piece combines watercolor, tissue paper acrylic paint and pastel as well as metallic dusts on Art Spectrum paper.

He is not only an elegant and fully connected to the beautiful beings of the forest, but he also knows great sadness as he cares deeply for all the life around him. Because he feels the all the lives around him keenly, he hurts when life is disturbed in an unhealthy way. Death is a part of the natural cycle, but that is not his grief, but the interference of those with malevolent intent.

He is a vessel for and initiator of pleasure. He invites and dares, and is absolutely certain of his role, and deeply confident in his ability. He offers fruit that is just out of reach, unless you are quick enough, and willing to take the plunge fully with him. Succulent, juicy, rich in color and sensation, and he is life in love with living.

So graceful and fluid, yet constrained by the strict geometry that provides the foundation of all that incarnates. She is both delicate and yielding, as well as self-contained and assertive. She knows the value of satin to entice and complete the act that creates the seed for the next generation.

This Venus while not showing her face, still reveals a brash openness in the graceful vertical position of her legs. She is on the surface of her home planet, bathed in the cold, high contrast stellar light of the dynamic cosmos she looks over. She has a bit of the Vargas Girl in her, yet with an elegance, sophistication and warmth that no human could match. She invites you close, and appears accessible, but also dares you to touch her exquisite beauty. She, too, is highlighted with metallic mineral powders, and has a cosmic Leonid guardian in the sky above her.

This first painting in the male series of gods follows the shy narcissus theme, and shows only his backside, with all the strength, power and beauty that he possesses openly displayed in relaxed confidence. Apollo is the god of the sun, and this painting basks in the golden warmth of rich flesh tones and the sparkle of colored mineral powders. As with other paintings using this technique starting with watercolor washes and moving back and forth with soft pastel, a surprise character peeks out from the background.

Isis is an Egyptian goddess who represents the progenitor of the creative process. She is the mother of all the other paintings, and the first I painted in this series. She is the first of my self-portraits to face the viewer fully, and so is a significant shift from the Shy Narcissus series, where a hint of the side profile is the most that is revealed. Isis is the epitome of the strong, independent feminine and she challenges the viewer to understand her depth, pathos, beauty and intelligence. She is both being born from and giving birth to the universal life energy, yet stands firmly and fiercely in her own being. Gold leaf highlights the royal purple of her surrounding cosmos.
